Volume 56: Partnerships
November 2018

This month’s eLEAD theme is one of the top characteristics of leadership effectiveness as identified by Towers Watson.  This month the focus is Working in Partnership with Others to Accomplish Goals.

Working in partnership enables more people to be involved, resources to be shared, and may widen the possibilities of those who are served. Whether the partnership includes the clergy leader working with laity; a partnership between teams in a congregation; or, a partnership with a community entity or another church, when we join together, it increases our capacity and connects us together.

"I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ."  Philippians 1:3-6.

SEGREGATED CHURCH MERGER; FROM PARTNERSHIP TO A NEW BEGINNING

By Carl Martin, Member, Piney Grove/Wesley Chapel/First Jonesville United Methodist Church, Appalachian District

How can they hope to make an impact beyond their own walls?... MORE

PARTNERING WITH LAITY

You’re a leader. You craft vision, set expectations, and devise strategy every day. But without an intentional leadership culture, teams often fall short and don’t follow through, mostly because they don’t know how. Knowing what to do and HOW to do it are two completely different concepts... MORE

 BOUNDARIES AND PARTNERSHIP
