LAITY SUNDAY IS OCTOBER 15

Laity Sunday in the United Methodist Church is on October 15, 2017 and the Board of Laity of the WNCC invites all congregations to celebrate the ministry of the laity on this Sunday.

DEADLINE EXTENDED- PASTORES CAMINATES PROGRAM

The Hispanic House of Studies at Duke Divinity School is recruiting a sixth cohort of pastors for its Pastores Caminantes program.  All pastors (Latino and non-Latino) who are passionate about ministering for and with the Hispanic/Latino community in North Carolina and elsewhere in the U.S. are encouraged to apply.

During the program, a group of up to 12 sojourners meets periodically for spiritual formation from a Hispanic/Latino Methodist perspective, reflects on ways to be more culturally humble, and participates in language immersions. Thanks to a generous grant by The Duke Endowment, the cost of this program is only $250 for North Carolina participants and $500 for participants from other conferences and states. Continuing education credit will be granted after the completion of the program.  Deadline to apply October 15, 2017.

Seminar: "Building Resiliency in Uncertain Times"

Mondays from 5:30 pm -7:00 pm
October 16 and November 20
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Campus; Winston-Salem, NC

Humans have a remarkable healing wisdom innate within our bodies. Learning how to utilize this wisdom by understanding the brain science with biblical principles and learning how to regulate our responses to stress and trauma can reduce the long-term negative effects caused by cumulative exposure to stress and trauma. The good news is that "Resiliency Wins Over Trauma".

In today's uncertain times across our churches and communities, now is the time to join us at FaithHealth NC for a 90-minute seminar that explores how stress and trauma affect our bodies, minds and spirits and learn practical methods that help unleash the healing wisdom of our bodies.

For registration and location details please email Emily Viverette at FaithHealth NC, eviveret@wakehealth.edu
